From my early days as a police officer in Mesa, I knew that a safe community depends on a partnership between police officers and the people who live and work in our community. We called it “Community Policing” and it was an important part of what we considered to be quality public safety. Today throughout Arizona, police officers continue to practice community policing by getting to know the people in the area where they work and attending events like “National Night Out”, “Shop With A Cop”, and “Coffee With A Cop”. It makes a difference.
